The 2nd Edition of Wastra Wonderland Explore Indonesia’s Heritage through Fashion, Food, and Cultural

Nusa Dua, Bali — On September 26, 2024, Merusaka Nusa Dua proudly presents the 2nd edition of Wastra Wonderland, set to be held on October 11, 2024, from 12 PM-9 PM, in conjunction with Hari Batik (Batik Day) on October 2, 2024. This event aims to explore Indonesia’s heritage through fashion, food, and cultural experiences, celebrating and supporting our local designers and small enterprises. “Wastra” refers to traditional textiles or fabrics in Indonesian culture, often characterized by intricate patterns and techniques. These textiles are typically handwoven and carry cultural significance, often used in ceremonial attire or as decorative items.

This year, the Wastra Wonderland event is planned to take place in the beachfront area of Merusaka Nusa Dua. This beautiful location provides the perfect setting for immersing our guests in a range of entertainment and activities, all set against the stunning ocean view. A Balinese dancer will perform as the opening act of the Wastra Wonderland event.

“Through the Wastra Wonderland event, Merusaka Nusa Dua aims to spark the audience’s interest in exploring the beauty of Indonesian fabrics, such as Batik and various traditional woven textiles,” said Ian Cameron, General Manager of Merusaka Nusa Dua.

This resort authentically captures the very essence of Balinese culture, exuding its charm and charisma. The building of Merusaka Nusa Dua is designed to emulate the vibrant culture of Bali. Drawing inspiration from the captivating ambiance of Balinese villages and incorporating the daily life activities of Penglipuran village, the architecture harmoniously blends tradition with luxury.
