Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony A Symbol of Harmony

The festive season had officially begun, and the Christmas decorations beautifully warmed the ambiance of Merusaka Nusa Dua as a symbol of harmony. We were excited to welcome the upcoming celebrations and share memorable moments with our guests.

As the Christmas tree is a cherished symbol of the season, we hosted a Christmas tree lighting ceremony to create an unforgettable experience that embodied the spirit of the holidays. The event, held in our Lobby, began at 6:30 PM. For this special occasion, we invited guests and hotel management to come together for a heart-warming evening of festivities as we officially illuminated the Christmas tree for the first time.

Our Christmas tree was crafted from Lontar leaves, a material that has long been used in Bali for sacred manuscripts and religious offerings. This zero-waste approach reflected our commitment at Merusaka Nusa Dua to minimize waste and promote eco-friendly practices throughout the property.

A special acoustic performance accompanied the ceremony, featuring festive Christmas songs. The warm ambiance of the evening was perfectly complemented by a selection of Christmas drinks—eggnog and warm wine—served to our guests.

“We are thrilled to kick off the festive season with such a meaningful event here at Merusaka Nusa Dua. The Christmas Tree Lighting ceremony marks a special moment for our guests and team, as we come together to celebrate love, joy, and the spirit of the holidays. It’s an honour to create lasting memories in this beautiful setting, surrounded by nature’s beauty and our commitment to sustainability,” said Ian Cameron, the General Manager of Merusaka Nusa Dua.

We celebrated a night of joy, community spirit, and the magic of the holiday season, kicking off the festivities together!

The Enchanting Balinese Architecture Allure of Merusaka Nusa Dua

March, 2024, Bali Island is globally renowned for its rich in art and culture, exemplified notably through its distinctive architecture. Balinese architectural styles have formed organically from the island’s way of life, deeply rooted in the philosophical and spiritual influences of Hinduism.

Merusaka, a name derived from Hinduism beliefs in Bali, symbolizes the first Nirvana, embodying a majestic and monumental dream destination. This resort authentically captures the very essence of Balinese culture, exuding its charm and charisma. The building of Merusaka Nusa Dua is designed to emulate the vibrant culture of Bali. Drawing inspiration from the captivating ambiance of Balinese villages and incorporating the daily life activities of Penglipuran village, the architecture harmoniously blends tradition with luxury. Comprising seven buildings with modern Balinese  architecture, each inspired by one of the Seven Balinese Goddesses: Rukmini, Saraswati, Lakshmi, Dewi Sri, Parwati, Uma, and Sita. These goddesses represent the soul of the resort, symbolizing beauty, prosperity, love, purity, and other divine qualities.

The lobby of Merusaka Nusa Dua is inspired by the Balinese culture and daily life, particularly the Balinese barn known as “Jineng”. The roof and pillars draw inspiration from the essential role of rice barns in Balinese society, reflecting their profound significance to the community.

The Balinese architecture of Merusaka Nusa Dua’s building also implements the Tri Hita Karana concept, encompassing three principles that contribute to prosperity and happiness: Parhyangan (maintaining harmony and balance between humans and God), Pawongan (ensuring harmony and balance in human interactions), and Palemahan (preserving harmony and balance between humans and the environment).
